the ivy spa

ABOUT US

The Ivy Spa was created for the most honorable of reasons. A client noticed the major benefits of massage and thought a more prominent location was needed for his massage therapist. Melissa Sansone moved her practice to the building Scott Noel acquired and the business was born in 2007. Scott felt that others needed to experience what Melissa had done for him and the two have worked tirelessly for years to ensure only the highest quality therapists. estheticians and nail techs join their team.

All of this takes place in one of the most charming and historical homes in the area. Built in the early 1930’s by engineer Norman Cottrell, the home required extensive cosmetic work, but it’s double thick brick house has stood like a fortress in North Greenbush over that last 80 years. This would be expected coming from a man who built the Dunn Memorial Bridge and Saw Mill Parkway, amongst other public projects.

Inhabited by the Cottrell family for over 70 years, it was important to the owners to maintain the integrity of the home and add to it’s beauty. Blessed with a coveted view of downtown Albany, Thatcher Park and the Catskills, the grounds will continue to be improved upon to create a peaceful park like setting you would expect from an upscale spa.

The Ivy Spa proudly surpasses a decade in business, being named as a finalist in the Capital District Living Magazine as Best Massage Services.

We hope you enjoy The Ivy Spa as much as we do when you visit.
